Check your outward and return connections before setting off, including the last service of the day. You’ll find public transport options in the guide below.
Linen & Towels
Bed linen is provided for your stay, so there’s no need to bring bedding with you. Please remember to bring your own towel, or ask the hostel team about towel hire when you arrive.
Groups & Whole Hostel Hire
You can reach Glendalough from Dublin by public transport. Choose the direct Glendalough Bus or travel by train and TFI Local Link.
Direct from Dublin: Glendalough Bus
St. Kevin’s Bus Service runs from St. Stephen’s Green North, opposite Stephen’s Court, through Bray, Roundwood, Annamoe and Laragh to Glendalough. This is the simplest option from Dublin city centre.
Check the Glendalough Bus timetable for your travel date and the operator’s current fares before setting off. Departure times vary by season and day.
Via Sallins: train and Local Link 895
Take a train from Dublin to Sallins & Naas, then connect with TFI Local Link route 895 to Glendalough via Blessington. Check both timetables and allow time for the connection.
Via east Wicklow: Local Link 183
Route 183 connects Glendalough with Arklow and other towns in east Wicklow. It can be useful if you are combining your stay with Wicklow Town, Rathdrum or the east coast.
See the TFI Local Link Wicklow timetables for routes 183 and 895, stops and departure times.
Plan your return journey too: check your connections and the last service before you travel.
