For over 85 years now, An Óige – the Irish Youth Hostel Association has been providing safe, affordable accommodation and travel experiences to those travelling Ireland as backpackers, groups, or families. An Óige is a non-profit organisation with a focus on our guests and providing the best budget accommodation in Ireland as is possible.

If you’re looking to travel around Ireland on a budget, An Óige is here to help. We have 19 fantastic youth hostels located in prime locations throughout Ireland. Our youth hostels offer great quality, safe and comfortable accommodation for families, groups and individuals of all ages. You can choose from youth hostels in Dublin, Cork, Kerry, Clare, Donegal, Galway, Meath, Mayo, Wicklow, and Tipperary, with all types of rooms and locations – everybody is welcome.

To see a full list of all our hostels located throughout Ireland, check out our Hostel Guide section.

An Óige is also a member of Hostelling International, and as such our An Óige membership will get you a 10% discount at over 4,000 Hostelling International hostels worldwide.

Finally, An Óige also run a number of programmes in conjunction with our various partners. As Ireland’s only youth hostels, we work with Gaisce – The President’s Award to help schools organise their Bronze Adventure Journey through our hostels in the Wicklow mountains. Thanks to our sponsors at Provident Financial, we run the Give Us A Break programme which gives funding to DEIS secondary schools to help them go on an overnight school trip at one of our top four hostels. We are also part of the Hostelling International Sleep  for Peace campaign which see a full week devoted to celebrating one of the best parts of hostelling, interacting with new and interesting people! It is celebrated from 21-27 of September each year.

For a full list of our Programmes, check out our Programmes section.

As the leading youth hostel organisation in Ireland, An Óige has received high recommendations from numerous travel groups and websites such as Outsider Magazine, Rough Guides, and Fáilte Ireland.
