If so, then look no further. As the leading youth hostel association in Ireland, An Óige is dedicated to developing a love and appreciation of Ireland’s countryside, culture and history in a safe, affordable way to everyone, especially young people by providing quality hostel accommodation to them on their adventures.

Booking Your Gaisce Experience

Gaisce is the President’s Award, a self-development programme for people ages 14-25. It has been proven to enhance confidence and well-being in participants through personal, physical and community challenges and achievement.

It is a direct challenge from the President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins, to young people to dream big and raise their potential.

An Óige are proud to work with Gaisce in helping schools organise their Bronze Adventure Journey. This is done through our Glendalough International Hostel and Knockree Youth Hostel, both in County Wicklow. As Bronze Adventure Journey Partners we organise:

  • Providing passionate volunteer hike guides
  • Mini Irish/continental breakfasts
  • Adventure Journey information packs
  • Accommodation in our Glendalough International Hostel

The Bronze Adventure Journey with us involves - two days and one night accommodation, 25km hike and preparation of a shared meal in our communal kitchen.
