The An Óige Photographic Group is an amateur group catering for photographers since 1938. It is the longest running activity group within An Óige – Irish Youth Hostel Association.

Our Group meets every Wednesday night at our headquarters which is located at Dublin International Hostel, which is located at 61 Mountjoy Street in Dublin 7. It organising digital presentations, lectures, club nights and a Photographic League for its members. Our premises are fully equipped for photography. Field trips and special photographic weekends are also featured.

Our Group is affiliated to the Irish Photographic Federation and takes part in competitions organised by the Federation annually. A programme of activities is issued to members on a monthly basis.

An annual exhibition of the work of members is held during the Summer in the National Botanic Gardens. Members of other clubs around Ireland are invited to submit entries and IPF gold medals are awarded for the winning pictures. Those wishing to enter can do so by completing the 2019 Entry Form. To download the entry form, click here. (entry deadline has now been extended until Wednesday, 17th April)

The Photographic Group also organises a Digital Camera Course for Beginners each year – this is the perfect course for anyone who has a camera still sitting in its box from Christmas or a birthday but with no clue how to use it! It’s also a great course if you have a camera and use it but are not getting the desired results and want to improve your photography skills.

Whether you’re a beginner or a professional photographer, you’re always welcome at the An Óige Photographic Group. Aside from being able to teach one another new tricks and techniques, we also enjoy getting together for adventure and to find that perfect shot that all of us seek to capture.
