Halloween 2017 is a little under a week away. The fright fest will, as always, take place on 31st October, which this year falls on a Tuesday. One of the biggest and busiest nights of the year, this year is sure to be no different with a large number of events taking place all across the country. This year, ahead of the occassion, we are looking at events taking place near our hostels located throughout the country that might strike your interest.
Location: Extreme Ireland College Green Tourist Office, Dublin 2
Distance: 22 minute walk from Dublin International Hostel.
The famous Gravedigger Ghost Tour includes a free GHOULISH drink at the Gravediggers Pub and a free Haunted History Dublin Walking Tour. The duration of the bus tour is approximately 2 hours and costs €25 per person.

Spirits of Meath Halloween Festival
Location: Boyne Valley, Co Meath
Distance: 30 minute coach journey from Newgrange Lodge Hostel.
From Haunted Hills to Eerie Graveyards; Tour of Shadows to Friendly Witches & Spooks and Spells; Thriller Nights to Terrifying Terror Houses – The Spirits of Meath Halloween Festival caters to everyone and will delight & fright equally.
Date and Time: Saturday, 5th October – Sunday, 5th November. Early until late.
Location: The Church Bar, Mary Street, Dublin 2
Distance: 14 minute walk from Dublin International Hostel.
With more than a thousand years of history, Dublin is one of the most haunted cities in the world. The Northside Ghost Tour will take you through one of the oldest parts of Dublin, telling its rich and haunted history. The duration of the tour is approximately 2 hours and costs €13 per person.
Date and Time: Friday, 27th October and Sunday, 29th October. Tour at 8pm.
Location: Cork City Gaol, Cork City, Co Cork
Distance: 30 minute walk from Sheila’s Hostel.
For one week only, Cork City Gaol will be taking part in the Halloween festivities which will include music, face painting, fancy dress, storytelling and a black cat treasure hunt.
Date and Time: Monday, 30th October – Friday, 3rd November from 10am until 4pm.
Location: O’ Reilly’s Bar, Tara Street, Dublin 2
Distance: 22 minute walk from Dublin International Hostel.
For one night only, O’ Reilly’s Bar will be transformed into a massive haunted house from hell. Entry will be free and fancy dress is essential.

Halloween Festival of Storytelling and Games
Location: Muckross House, Killarney, Co Kerry
Distance: 45 minute coach journey from Killarney International Hostel.
Halloween will be celebrated at The Schoolhouse at Muckross with an afternoon of of stories, music, Hallloween traditions and games.
Date and Time: Tuesday, 31st October from 1pm until 6pm.
Location: Dunlewey Centre, Dunlewey, Co Donegal
Distance: 25 minute walk from Errigal Youth Hostel.
A variety of different events for all the family to celebrate Halloween including: Face painting, Story telling, Magic Shows, Traditional games, Forrest walk and a display of fireworks.

Galway Aboo Halloween Festival
Location: Francis Street, Galway City, Co Galway
Distance: 5 minute walk from Sleepzone Galway City Hostel.
The Galway Aboo Haloween Festival is Ireland’s largest Halloween Festival and plays host to a number of activities and events and promises to be a superb weekend for all ages.
