An Óige is hosting an Introduction to Map Reading for Beginners weekend course this November!
This map reading course is a taster or refresher for those who want to know how to read a map and use a compass and would be great for anyone who is considering going on to completing mountain leading courses. This is a great course for those who have just got back into hiking.
We are planning a fun-filled weekend which will be a mixture of theory sessions and being on the hills! We are keeping the numbers small so the instructor/student ratio is 1:4. By the end of the course, you will be able to read a map, use a compass and be able to complete your own route card.
Location and dates: 13th – 15th of November 2015, Glendalough International Hostel.
*** Pre course will be held Thursday, 5th November, Dublin international Hostel, 7pm- 9.30pm.
Cost: €122 for members of An Óige. €132 for non-members.
This price includes your accommodation and food for the weekend, pre course and a compass!
Free membership will be given to non-members signing up for the weekend.
