No Plans for the May Bank Holiday? How about an inspired walking weekend on the Cong Lakes. Your guide will lead you hiking on the Cong Clonbur Isthmus, a narrow and spectacular stretch of land wedged between beautiful Loughs Corrib and Mask, on the Galway Mayo border.
The area around Cong offers superb forest and lakeside scenery, with the special local attractions of the limestone pavement mini Burren at Lough Mask, Cong’s famous dry canal, the native woodland restoration project site at Clonbur Wood and the extraordinary views over both great western lakes from the top of Benlevy.
And there’s plenty to entertain you in the evenings too! Cong’s pubs are alive with great traditional music each night, a great way for you to round off a lovely day of walking.
Stay three nights in Cong Youth Hostel or Cong B&B, with full board, including breakfast, dinner and packed lunches for the walks. For only €230 pp the whole weekend is covered, including a pick up from Castlebar train station.
