An Óige Photographic Group
The An Óige Photographic Group is an amateur group catering for photographers for the last 38 years-it’s the longest running activity group within An Óige.
The Group meet every Wednesday night organising digital presentations, lectures, Club Nights and a Photographic League for its members. Field trips and special photographic weekends are also featured.
The Group is affiliated to the Irish Photographic Federation and takes part in competitions organised by the Federation annually.
A programme of activities is issued to members on a monthly basis.
An annual exhibition of the work of members is held during the Summer in the National Botanic Gardens. Members of other clubs around Ireland are invited to submit entries and IPF gold medals are awarded for the winning pictures.
The Photographic Group also organises a Digital Camera Course for Beginners each year-this is the perfect course for anyone who has a camera still sitting in its box from Christmas or a birthday but with no clue how to use it! It’s also a great course if you have a camera and use it but are not getting the desired results and want to improve your photography skills. Again, keep an eye on the Photographic Programmes or the website for all details of these courses.
