Terms and Conditions An Óige
A booking request does not constitute a booking unless confirmed by An Óige. Bookings can only be accepted if made by an adult (person aged 18 years or more).
All prices quoted in this booking request are in Euro (EUR) and are public prices based on dormitory style accommodation. Those who wish to request a private room please insert relevant room requirements into our comments box. One of our reservation staff will then be in touch with availability and prices. A 10% deposit will be "frozen" but not charged until accommodation is confirmed as requested. No payment will be deducted from your credit card until accommodation is confirmed as requested.
An Óige / Hostelling International members are entitled to a discount of 10% on the quoted prices on our website on validation of their membership number - this cannot be used in conjunction with any other special offers or agent rates.
For parties of more than one ALL membership numbers must be produced in order to obtain this discount per member. Failure to produce your card on arrival at the hostel will result in €2.00 charge per person.
An Óige will aim to confirm or otherwise respond to your booking request within three working days by e-mail. However, in some instances (for example during long weekends or public holidays) the response time may vary. The booking will be confirmed by e-mail, and at the time of e-mailing the confirmation to you, the full amount of your booking will be debited from your credit card.
Please note that amendments and cancellations will result in amendment fees and cancellation charges as set out below. Please make sure you have enough funds available on your credit card.
Bookings for Dublin, Killarney, Doorus House and Knockree Youth Hostel that are made through www.dublininternationalhostel.com or www.anoige.ie and www.irelandyha.org will receive instant confirmation for their booking. This site is powered by hostelworld.com and therefore only 10% plus their booking fee will be deducted from your credit card upon booking. The balance will be paid on arrival. Any no shows or cancellations within 24 hours of arrival will result in your first night charged to your credit card. For all other hostel bookings (excluding Dublin,Killarney, Doorus House & Knockree) made via www.anoige.ie or www.irelandyha.org the full amount of the booking will be debited from your card after confirmation of availability.
Anyone making a booking with a third party credit card must present a written letter from the credit card holder authorising payment from their credit card upon check in. No payment will be taken from any credit card without this written consent. Failure to present this letter will result in the guest having to pay in cash or an alternative payment method.
Please note that only some hostels are suitable for wheelchair access. If in doubt please check the hostel information or contact the individual hostel.
Supplements may apply in respect of event weekends, weekend bookings, en-suite rooms etc.

Child Protection Act Regulations
Our hostels are all child and family friendly but if you are a family/groups with children 16 years and under, please be aware that these children can not stay in dorms with others who are not in their party in adherence to the Child Protection Act. All bookings must be made by an adult (aged 18 and over) and any party staying at the hostel must be accompanied by at least one supervising adult. For groups of 10 or more there must be a least one supervising adult per 10 students.
Cancellations Policy
If you need to cancel your booking/booking request please notify us immediately by e-mail, fax or phone. The amount of this cancellation fee is related to how long in advance that is given to us prior to commencement of travel. Commencement of travel is the date you nominated to arrive at the hostel.
Cancellation fees are as follows:

We strongly advise that you purchase adequate travel insurance to safeguard against any losses.
Amendments Policy
Changes to a booking are permitted. However, once payment has been received, revisions are subject to a €30 revision charge per amendment. If you wish to change your booking; the type of tour, departure date or hosteller names, please call Head Office, email or fax us immediately.on fee being deducted from your credit card.
Special Offers
We are happy to extend special offers to our customers but the following terms and conditions apply:
- The offers indicated by An Óige can only be redeemable at An Óige youth hostels unless otherwise stated
- All offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions or discounts (sorry!) but you can opt for the discount that best suits you
- All offers are subject to availability - the hostel manager and An Óige booking office reserve the right to accept or decline bookings
- PORT12 offers - for Dublin International Hostel only - book directly by phone and quote code - must have flyer to get discount on arrival
- NI2012 offers - for Dublin, Knockree, Glendalough, Killarney, Cork and Errigal hostels - book directly by phone and quote code - must have flyer to get discount on arrival
Terms and conditions for packages
-> Package refers to FIT bookings only (FIT means Free Individual Travellers includes a small group up to four persons).
-> We can take group bookings on request but prices may vary - contact us to organise!
-> All packages are subject to availability - we can't put you in beds that are full!
-> All packages MUST be paid in full 4 weeks prior to departure. Failure to pay in time may lead to cancellation of your booking.

Language Package Delfin Language School Terms & Conditions
On purchasing the languge package the student of the Language Package and Delfin Language School must adhere to the Terms & Conditions of the language school, which are as follows:
1. Regarding accommodation the ussual Terms & Conditions for individuals and groups apply with exception of Full payment that must be paid one month in advance from the day of arrival.
2. Courses are non-extendable and non-transferable and must be used within the specified time or for the specified course/classes.
• No classes will be held on public holidays.
• Cancellations
• Bookings may be cancelled up to a week prior to commencement of course with a €75 administration penalty.
• For cancellations received 1 to 7 days before the course begins 50% of full amount will be refunded (minimum cancellation fee is €75).
• There is NO refund for any cancellation once the course has commenced. This includes late arrival, early departure or days missed during the course.
• A fee of €200 applies to cancellations due to visa refusal. (Visa refusal documentation required for refunds).
• Where accommodation has been booked an additional €95 penalty applies.
3. Insurance and Health
• Participants from EU countries should obtain form EHIC from their local Social Welfare Office. Any participant undergoing ongoing medical treatment must provide a medical certificate. Such participants should also bring to Ireland a supply of medicine sufficient to cover their stay. All participants should provide their own basic health and travel insurance.
4. Delfin English School reserves the right to cancel a class at any time.
Group Bookings Terms & Conditions
1. A Non Refundable Deposit of 25% must be paid within 7-14 days
of the booking in order to secure your reservation. If deposit is not
received within 7-14 days your reservation will be cancelled. The
remainder balance is due 3-4 weeks prior to arrival. If the balance is
not received 3 weeks in advance we reserve the right to treat your
booking as cancelled. You have been warned!!
2. Changes to a booking are permitted but once deposit has been received are subject to an amendment fee of €30.00.
3. You or any member of your party may cancel your booking, or
any part of it, once it has been confirmed, but these instructions must
be in writing. You can send this to either your travel agent or to An
Óige directly. To compensate us for the expense of processing your
booking and for the risk that we may not be able to resell the holiday,
we charge a cancellation fee on the scale shown below. The amount
payable depends on when we receive your written instructions – the more
notice advised the less charged. See below:

4. While these cancellation charges do apply, we can offer the customer the option to re-book with us within 6 months with none of the above penalties applying. The money paid will be kept on file towards the new booking and a €45 re-activation fee will be charged once the new booking has been confirmed. Money will only be kept on file for 6 months and failure to re-book with us within this time frame will result in the charges above being applied. This does not apply for our franchise hostels.
5. Payment of accounts may be processed in the following ways:
• Bank Transfer to AIB (Allied Irish Bank), 40/41 Westmoreland Street, Business Centre, Dublin 2, Ireland.

• Visa, Mastercard or American Express
• Bankers Draft – Please note €20.00 will be charged on drafts issued outside Ireland for bank fees. You will need to add this to your booking amount when having the bank draft issued.

6. Clients who wish to book any of our holidays are liable for their own insurance.
7. Groups aged 18 years old and under are not to be left unsupervised at any time on hostel premises.
8. Please advice in advance your intended time of arrival. If you are delayed and are not due to arrive at the hostels after 5:30pm please call the hostel in advance. The telephone numbers of the hostels are on the An Oige hostel guide.
9. Leaders accompanying a party must agree to be responsible
and accountable for the behaviour and actions of their party. Hostel
policy states that any member of a party found misbehaving or
contravening hostel rules jeopardises the stay of the whole group. The
leader(s) are liable for all damages caused by the actions of their
party. To this end a security deposit of €300.00 - €1000.00+ must be
paid on arrival (amount dependable on group size) as follows:
0 – 50 pax €300.00
50 – 100 €500.00
100+ €1000.00+
10. This deposit will be refunded in full if no damages are
caused by the group while staying at the Youth Hostel. Damages and
expenses incurred by the hostel due to the actions of the group will be
deducted from the security deposit. Any expenses incurred beyond the
limits of the deposit will be sought from the group leader(s).
11. No alcohol is permitted for any persons under the age of
18 in any of our hostels. Alcohol is permitted for those of legal age
but check with the hostel manager first!
12. All Member Discounts must be applied at time of booking.
No member discounts will be applied after payment has been received.
Up-to-date cards must be presented at check-in or a €2 per person per
night fee must be paid.
13. A €25 per person security deposit is required for all
groups of 10 or more for Sleepzone Galway, Burren and Connemara hostels.
This must be paid directly to the hostel upon check in.
Rent-a-Hostel Booking Conditions
1. Bookings through An Óige Head Office only. Payment in full 4 weeks before arrival. A standard minimum €250 security deposit is required at time of payment. The amount of the deposit is at the discretion of the hostel. Larger groups may have to pay a higher deposit.
2. Deposit held as security against any damages/costs incurred by the hostel (i.e. any hostel under the rent-a-hostel scheme) as a result of the group (i.e. those renting the hostel). Credit card details will serve as deposit and monies will be deducted subject to the manager’s final inspection. Deposits are not deducted in advance. Any costs above and beyond those covered by the security deposit will be sought from the senior group leader.
3. Group leaders must be over 18 and of a responsible nature. One leader per 10 group members. Overall responsibility for the group lies with the senior group leader in whose name the booking will be made. Managers are not responsible for the group or members of the group.
4. Arrival is on reserved date after 5 pm (17:00). Departure is by 10 am (10:00) on the date of departure subject to the conditions of the final inspection and at the manager’s discretion.
5. The group have full and unlimited access to the hostel for the duration of their stay and are fully responsible for the cleanliness of the hostel and its contents and all associated facilities. The group is expected to leave the hostel in a clean and tidy state and to the manager’s satisfaction. The group is required to report any damage, loss or theft to and of hostel property to the manager immediately.
6. Managers will be in residence whilst the group is present yet will not interfere with the activities of the group except: where damage is caused to the hostel or the hostel’s standing in the community, disturbances beyond a reasonable expectation are made to the managers themselves, i.e. noise, or for purposes of the final inspection.
7. These general rules are a guide only and do not exempt the group from the specific rules of the hostel or any norms and practices subscribed to by the managers, i.e. noise levels, nominal charges for additional heating/fuel costs etc. The group is advised to check such rules and practices upon arrival.
8. An Oige Head Office must be advised of any changes or cancellations to bookings immediately. Cancellation fees are levied at the following scale:

All changes and cancellations must be confirmed by An Oige Head Office before regarded as true and correct.
9. An Oige reserves the right to refuse a booking and/or to repossess a hostel at any time where just cause is shown. In such cases An Oige, or officers of, shall not be liable to issue refunds.
10. The total number of the group in residence must not exceed the total sleeping capacity of the hostel. The group is not insured for personal injury, damage or theft whilst at the hostel.
An Óige's Privacy Policy
An Óige respects the personal privacy of our customers and we take the responsibility of ensuring the security of your personal information very seriously.
If we ask
you to provide us with any personal information, we will tell you the
purposes for which we intend to use that information. We will not
collect, use or disclose your personal information without your consent.
We will never sell any information obtained from you to a third party.
Information Collection, Use & Disclosure
By
becoming a member of An Óige, you must provide certain personal
information which is added to our internal membership database. The
information contained in the database can only be used for purposes
related to An Óige.
When you purchase your An Óige membership, or
make a hostel booking with An Óige, we must request information needed
to complete the processing of your order and billing.
We may also
use the information collected to send you member magazines,
newsletters, email notices, research and surveys and other
correspondence. We will only send this type of information to you with
your consent.
We will use information on site traffic and member
demographics to compile statistics and reports for An Óige's use. We
analyze aggregated information to understand our customers and their
needs. The information used for this purpose does not include personally
identifiable data.
Website Security
An Óige will use the appropriate security safeguards to protect your personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access. Any personal information you provide to An Óige is 128-bit encrypted and delivered over a secure server. Access to personal information is restricted to authorized An Óige personnel only.
Cookies
A "cookie" is a small file that is stored on your computer's hard drive. The browser stores the message in a text file and the message is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server.
An Óige makes limited use of cookies on our website so
that we can provide you with faster service, consistent and updated
information and an overall better web experience. We do not use cookies
to track personally-identifiable information or your movements after
leaving our website.
Most browsers allow you to turn off cookies,
and the help menu of your browser should tell you how to do so.
However, doing this will hinder our website's performance and negatively
impact your experience on our site.
Member Magazine / Newsletter
An
Óige produces a magazine/newsletter several times a year. This member
publication is designed to keep you up-to-date on news and member events
as well as share travel-related stories and tips from here at home and
around the world. The member magazine is free and sent only to members
who have chosen to receive the publication.
Email Newsletters
An Óige collects your email address so that we can send you the e-newsletter you've asked for. The e-newsletters contains membership / hostel updates, travel tips and other budget travel-related information.
E-newsletters
are only sent to people who have chosen to receive them. Each
e-newsletter you receive includes simple instructions on how to
unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time.
Research & Surveys
From
time to time, we may conduct research or surveys that request
demographic information (such as age range and gender) and travel
preferences. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary.
The
information collected will only be shared with third parties in
aggregate form; no individual personal information will ever be given to
third parties unless we have your express permission or you have been
notified.
Accuracy and Access
An Óige strives to ensure that
any personal information we collect is accurate and complete for the
purposes with which we will use it. At your request, we will provide you
with a statement of the personal information we have collected about
you. If our records regarding your personal information are inaccurate
or incomplete, we will amend the information at your request
immediately.
