About the Hostel
Originally a hunting lodge and still a listed building, and designed by a famous English architect, Sir Edwin Lutwens, Trá na Rosann is well worth a visit for this alone.
It is the most northerly youth hostel in all Ireland, and sited at the northern edge of the Rosguill Peninsula (Melmore Head) in an Irish speaking (Gaeltacht) area. Perfect if you wish to brush up or improve your Irish language speaking skills!
The hostel is also ideally situated for those with an interest in hiking and hill-walking and many of the guests that stay in Trá na Rosann are initially attracted to it because of its fantastic location and chance to “get away from it all” in this rural hostel.
