Our 5 star Errigal Hostel is situated in a stunning corner of Ireland in County Donegal. This Donegal Youth Hostel lies at the foot of Donegal's highest mountain, Mt. Errigal which looms overhead and, for those interested in hiking and walking, it is right on the Ulster Way.

Errigal Hostel prides itself on being GREEN, GREEN, GREEN and has recently been awarded EU ECO Flower Label. The ECO “Flower” Label is an environmental accreditation recognised throughout Europe for its commitment to sustainable tourism and protection of the local environment. The staff at Errigal Hostel, with the help of the An Óige Environmental Group, worked hard to meet the long list of strict criteria needed to achieve this prestigious award.

This impressive custom-built Donegal Hostel had €3 million invested in it in recent years to make the accommodation as modern and sustainable as possible. It has an energy efficient wood pellet boiler, energy saving lighting, water saving measures and composting and recycling of most materials. Environmentally friendly cleaning products are used in the hostel and the cost reductions can be passed on to loyal customers making it economically friendly too!

The Poisoned Glen, Glenveagh Castle and National Park, adjacent to the hostel are ideal for walking in Donegal as is the Bloody Foreland – just watch out for the Green Lady ghost! You can also visit the village beach resort of Bunbeg, well known for its surfing and music festivals.

As this new 60 bed building recently had €3m invested in it, it is a most impressive purpose built, state of the art youth hostel! It features some bedrooms built in a mezzanine fashion as well as en-suite rooms if you prefer! You have plenty of choice of rooms from twin, 4 bedded and 6 bedded rooms with breath-taking views overlooking the Poison Glen and Errigal Mountain.
